Adult League Update 03-24-2020
Hello everyone,
USTA National issued a statement today to all USTA Members that due to COVID-19, the USTA has decided to suspend all USTA-sanctioned leagues and local tournaments through May 3.
In Colorado, the majority of tennis facilities have closures that extend beyond May 3 due to State, City, County or other official mandates. These suspensions obviously have an impact on the entire industry, including our USTA Colorado League programs. The waters we are all trying to navigate can change (and often do).
USTA Colorado will work through this in a thoughtful and prudent manner – collaborating with players, captains and providers alike. Our goal is to provide players the opportunity to play in our league programs. We will do our best to keep you informed and are sending you this update with the most current information available at this time.
As this is a fluid situation with changes happening daily, there could be additional changes depending on a variety of external factors. Please see below for more details.
USTA Mixed 18 & Over
League remains suspended (on hold) indefinitely, until we have a better idea of when play will be able to resume.
USTA Adult 18 & Over
Since many facilities are closed well into May, this league is on hold until we have a better idea of when play will be able to resume. We are evaluating all options and will provide more information when it becomes available.
Unless things change with Sectional dates (which are being reviewed), this league would have to have an abbreviated season.
CTA Daytime Doubles
The Minimum Roster Requirement Deadline has been extended to April 10. We are planning to start the league season two weeks later than published, on May 26, and will hopefully be able to provide players with a 6-7 week league season.
Since it takes multiple weeks to schedule, there is a chance that changes will have to be made to the league season while in the process of scheduling the league.
Please have the minimum number of players registered by the deadline if you would like to participate in this league, knowing that further modifications may become necessary.
We will not have the ability to remove teams once the scheduling process has begun, so if your entire team does not want to commit to play, please send an email to Taylor McKinley by April 10. If any individual players do not want to commit to play, please submit a move or deletion request by April 10.
